Social Media Book Promotions & Marketing For Your Story - By Sean Michael Paquet
For anyone interested in free promotion, these are the FB Book Promotion Groups I subscribe to. A word of caution when you decide to utilize this many groups. Don't hit them all in one day. There are 58 of these groups and some of the Admins and Moderators overlap. If you use the same pitch, the Facebook Secret Artificial Intelligence will kick in after about 5 posts and will you get called out for spamming. Have several different pitches for your posts to different groups. Here are the pitches I am currently using. Notice how each one is set up to do a quick copy/paste into whatever social media platform you choose.

Do not always use your Amazon.com or whatever link to whoever is selling your work. Just use the ISBN 13 number. Or if you have an author website, use that and make sure the vendor link is on your website.
If you just want to promote yourself as an author, then say that is what you are doing. For example:

I highly recommend you have an author account on FB. However my personal and professional FB pages tend to bleed over onto one another. I suppose it doesn't hurt.
Twitter is an absolute must! I can fire off a hundred tweets a day to promote my book. It takes nothing more than pasting my vendor link into a tweet and letting it fly.
I recommend doing some snippets from your work and also sending that off as promotion. Several of you have seen me do this and I always get a positive response. Here are my snippets:
having your own website is an absolute must! I bought a domain name and a one year subscription from website.com for $59.00. You want that because if you own the domain you can put anything you want on the website.
For Instagram, I have found that saving book snippets as Jpeg or PNG files and posting them as pictures to Instagram is effective.
Tumblr is pretty cool Its kind of like a blog where you can post whatever you want. Not as big a following as other social media, but hey it's free.
Anyways, I hope you look up some of these groups and subscribe to them if you already haven't. We as writers are in this together. For me this is not a competition. I want to see everyone succeed. Just remember, this is short term, wide dissemination marketing. You have to stay on top of it. Most of these Groups I hit once per week with some form of promotion for either myself or my book.
